Parlor Guitar c. 1880's
SOLD! $250
A very early parlor guitar, probably from the 1880's and possibly much older. There is some open cracks in the top and back and the bridge will need regluing, and there are dings and scratches in the finish, but otherwise in good condition. There is some very attractive multiband wood purfling on the top. One set of tuning machines is original and has bone replaceable buttons. What appears to be a very early handmade case is lined with the Boston Daily Globe of 1886, which contains some very interesting reading! Scale = 24". Lower Bout = 11". Overall Length = 35".
